Protests help bring issues to the public’s attention. Issues such as poor accommodation, dreadful health statistics, inadequate and poor access to education, an all prevailing discrimination and social exclusion need to be spoken about and brought into the public forum.
If these realities are to be effectively changed then they need to be seriously spoken about and acted upon by both Travellers and settled people together in a spirit of respect and appreciation of difference.
