We work with Travellers to build a just, inclusive and welcoming community in and through faith

For Travellers God is close. The God of their faith lives within their everyday lives. When Travellers call on God, it is with the conviction that God hears their prayers and will respond. There is no doubt about God’s presence and action in this world. God is to be found in holy places, people and through ritual. The image of God is one who loves, protects and corrects.holy_people_4

Sacraments are a strong expression of Traveller faith. They are key moments on their journey and are celebrated with great enthusiasm. These moments signify times of change and transition. The sacraments are seen as an expression of God’s care for his people. They give strength, protection and help to those who receive them.

Whether expressed in religious or secular terms, having faith may be understood as the activity of making meaning -composing and being composed by what we trust as ultimately true and dependable.
